Hi! I am Candace from Cullman, Alabama. I came from a drug addicted family. I grew up to be a drug dealing, junkie, and a thief. I was at my bottom and hopeless, when my dad was arrested on drug charges that lead him to Teen Challenge. Seeing him free gave me hope and I reached out for help. I came to Teen Challenge of Mississippi and gave my heart to Jesus and began to follow hard after him. He has changed me from the inside out and I will never be the same. I am now staff at Teen Challenge and an honor student in college. God has taken my mess and turned it into my message!

I stand on the scripture Philippians1:6 - "being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus!"

The Program

The Teen Challenge program combines biblical instruction to build Christian character, spiritual counseling to promote emotional wellness, and work assignments to teach acceptance of responsibility and a healthy work ethic.   The program is 12 months depending on the needs and progress of the student.   The Induction Phase provides for an adjustment period in which the student learns to keep a daily schedule and adhere to rules.  The Second Phase promotes implementation of character qualities being taught.  The Advanced Phase prepares the student to return to the community as a contributing citizen.

Here at Teen Challenge of Mississippi we believe that a relationship with Jesus Christ, not just a rehab or a program, is the cure for the drug epidemic. Our center is directed toward women, 18 and older, who struggle with life-controlling problems such as addictions to drugs, sex, alcohol, and those who battle with depression and eating disorders. Our vision is to see healing for the WHOLE woman and enable her to become mentally sound, emotionally balanced, socially adjusted, physically well and spiritually alive through the power of Jesus Christ.

John 8:36- " So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed!"
